There are many cafes and Tea Rooms in and around Weymouth where you can enjoy a range of refreshments including cream teas. The ones we have chosen all have gluten free scones if you have special dietary requirements.

The Wishing Well at Upwey

The wishing Well at Upwey

Situated in Upwey village the Wishing Well is very much a traditional tea room offering a varied menu and a good choice of home made cakes including gluten free options. Outside there is a delightful garden which is free to visit to customers. The river Wey rises in these gardens and there is a wishing well (hence the name!) Parking is alongside the road or in the nearby church car park.

Moreton Tea Rooms

Located in the village of Moreton the tea rooms are very popular with visitors and cyclists. There is a particularly attractive enclosed courtyard which acts as a sun trap. Wildlife abounds and there are always birds around to pick up any crumbs.

The Lobster Pot

If you are driving out to Portland Bill (and this should be on everyone’s itinerary) then you will find the Lobster Pot restaurant adjacent to the lighthouse. This is a very popular and busy cafe, particularly in the summer and is well worth a visit. Again they serve gluten free scones with their cream teas if requested. Personally we are also very fond of their chips which are light crisp and not greasy. Perfect. Parking is in the large car park at Portland Bill
